Solo exhibition at Access Gallery, Vancouver, Oct.26, 2012 – Jan.12, 2013. The work in this show is a response to the material buried beneath Vancouver’s streets unearthed during construction and real estate development. Specific sites such as the Marpole Midden and the early municipal dump near the Olympic Village are key sources. In the large wall work, “False Creek Midden,” rorschach-like paint blots mirror the symmetry of the clam-shells found in coastal middens.
